This week’s featured Camping & RV Getaway is the Kaneohe Bay Beach Cottages and Cabanas and Hale Koa campground in Hawaii! This camping facility is open to reservations from active duty service members, National Guard service members, reservists, retirees, and Department of Defense employed civilians. Reservations are accepted from active duty Marines stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii and Camp Smith up to 4 months in advance; for all others, reservations may be made one month in advance.
Facilities offered at the Kaneohe Bay Beach Cottages and Cabanas include 13 fully furnished cottages for $155-160 a day and 29 fully furnished cabanas for $78-148 a day. This camping facility is located right on the ocean. Just steps from the cottages, visitors will find a quiet, small beach called Secret Beach. This beach has very few waves and is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and sunbathing. Marine Corps Base Hawaii, where this campground is located, is in the town of Kailua – a quiet surfing town with a wide variety of small shops and restaurants. This town is about a 30 minute drive from Waikiki for those looking for a change of scenery.
