A missing cargo plane stolen by a U.S. airman in the 1960s may have been found according to British divers from the survey company Deeper Dorset. The fate of the stolen U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules has been a mystery for nearly five decades.

Missing since May 23, 1969, the story was that a U.S. Air Force assistant crew chief stationed at RAF Mildenhall was believed to have impersonated an officer and took off from the flight line. Not long after takeoff, the plane disappeared from radar.
