This week's featured Military camping facility is the Edwards Air Force Base FamCamp in California! This is a first come first served FamCamp, as it doesn't accept reservations.
Edwards AFB FamCamp is located in the western portion of the Mojave Desert and approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles. It is ideally located for shopping, sightseeing and recreational activities!
Offering 52 hardstand camper spaces with full hookups, picnic table, and grill, the FamCamp is within easy access of support facilities and on-base recreational activities, including golfing and an outdoor swimming pool (open seasonally). The FamCamp also offers primitive tent and overflow sites that have no hookups. You'll find restrooms and showers, a common area/lounge, free laundry, pavilions with picnic tables, fitness equipment, and a dump station ($5 usage fee).
