If you were planning on taking a trip to Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, CT, you can cross the Navy Lodge off of your list of places to stay at the moment. As of October, the Navy Lodge New London is closed to leisure travel, and open for official business only (such as on orders for a PCS or a TDY trip, for example).

Please keep in mind, this may change in the future, so you are always welcome to call them and check to see if they will accept reservations. In the meantime, other military lodging options available include the on base lodging at the Groton Chalet as well as the Navy Gateway Inns & Suites. There is also Coast Guard lodging just across the river at the Coast Guard Academy.
Groton, CT is the "Submarine Capital of the World". Groton is full of history, and is nearby to the wonderful Mystic, CT, and just a short drive from Boston and NYC. Fun things to do in the area include Mystic Seaport, Olde Mistick Village, Mystic Aquarium, USS Nautilus, Gillette Castle, Bluff Point State Park, Fort Griswold, and more.
