This week's featured military camping facility is the RV park located on Jacksonville Naval Air Station, just south of Jacksonville, FL. Also known as Manatee Cove RV Park (not to be confused with Patrick SFB Manatee Cove RV Park), this campground gives you access to north Florida and south Georgia and is on the shore of the St. Johns River.
The NAS Jacksonville RV park offers 42 sites, 39 of which have full hookups with water, sewer, and electric, and 3 of which are partial hookups with just water and electric. Tent camping is prohibited, and the campground is open year-round with pets allowed.
The campground also offers a laundry facility, a dump site, free wi-fi, and a picnic area. Base amenities include a commissary, an exchange, a hospital, a marina, and much more. You can book stays for up to 30 days, 1 year in advance for Active Duty/6 months in advance for all others. Extensions are granted based on availability for a maximum stay of 180 days.
Naval Air station Jacksonville is home to a Space-A Air passenger terminal and the Casa Linda Oaks Golf Course, a 27 holes championship golf for people of all ages and skill levels.
