Military Space-A Air Terminal Availability From May 8th to May 15th, 2024



This week, McChord Field in WA flew to Nellis AFB in Nevada just outside of Las Vegas, Travis AFB in CA flew to Key West NAS and MacDill AFB, both in FL, Dover AFB in DE flew to Travis AFB in CA, Norfolk NS flew to Jacksonville NAS in FL. There were some east to west coast and west to east coast this week, and Dover as usual flew to Ramstein in Germany several times with quite a few empty seats.


Military Space-A Air travel is all about finding available seats. Here is a snapshot of the major CONUS and OCONUS Passenger Terminals' available seats and usage for May 8th to May 15th. This information can give you an overview of the best time of the year to travel Space-A Air and the best destinations.

TRAVEL NOTES:

  • Leisure travel to Guam requires all travelers to have a passport OR a State Enhanced Driver's License.

  • 100% Disabled Veteran travelers (excluding retirees): If you do not have a DoD I.D. card with "Retired" as your status, your travel is limited IAW DoDI 4515.13, Table 3 Item 47:

    • "Authorized veterans with a permanent service-connected disability rated as total and their dependents (when accompanied by their sponsor): traveling in the CONUS or directly between the CONUS and Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa (Guam and American Samoa travelers may transit Hawaii or Alaska); or traveling within Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands."

  • The only location the SeaTac AMC Gateway travels to that a 100% Disabled Veteran can travel to is Guam.

  • Fees:

    • International Head Tax Fee (Arrival/Departure): $22.10

    • Domestic Tax Fee to and from Alaska and Hawaii: $11.10

    • Domestic Segment travel within CONUS Tax Fee: $5.00

    • Federal Inspection & Customs Usage Fees (FIS): $17.93
