This week's featured military camping facility is the Oak Grove RV Park & Cottages, located on Naval Air Station Pensacola in the Florida panhandle! Oak Grove Park is located under the Oaks along the beach off Radford Blvd. It is nestled along the Pensacola Bay, offering you a place to swim and cool off while staying here.
You have the option of tent camping, hooking up your RV, or staying in one of the 1 or 2 bedroom (fully furnished) cottages! There are 26 fully equipped cottages, 10 campsites, and 51 RV sites with full hookups.
The Beach Cottages can sleep up to 6 (1BR) or 7 (2BR) people and are equipped with cable TV, kitchens (with pots, pans and dishes), a refrigerator, stove, microwave, linens, and towels. Reservations for the Cottages can be made 1 year in advance for active duty, and retired military and DOD can reserve 6 months in advance, with a 2 day minimum and 2 week maximum stay. The RV sites can be rented daily, weekly or monthly. Jackson Court RV Park is also nearby, with 9 RV sites with full hook-ups.
While staying at Oak Grove, you have the option to rent various equipment from MWR – paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, camping equipment, and any of the picnic areas. There’s a bath house that has showers, laundry, and restrooms. Pets are allowed, on-leash and attended, at the campsites but not in the cottages, and there is a dump station available as well. Oak Grove Park is also within walking distance of the National Museum of Naval Aviation.
