  1. I am from San Diego and stayed at North Island many times. You have the choice of staying in a hotel or cottage on the beach or in traditional BOQ rooms. If you play golf the course is very nice and is your poor man’s Pebble Beach. You can also get many space A flights out of here. They have a fairly new sports center with lovely Olympic size pool and great fitness center.

I also stay at the Naval Amphibious Base across the way which has greats views of the Coronado bridge. Also has movie theater, swimming pool, church etc. It is conveniently located right on the strand which is the main drag in Coronado and close to Hotel Del Coronado Hotel.

  2. We use this terminal often but it operates so different from other terminals. Nothing is automated – you cannot see where you are on the list, the customer service is very poor most of the time, they have had us walk our luggage outside to the trailer to load onto plane. Last trip they had us grab our luggage in the plane and carry it down the stairs. We couldn’t find a bag so they said they probably moved it to the truck but after getting to the terminal no bag so we told them and they started yelling get on the truck go back to the plane etc. honestly I have never had a good experience … They have nothing posted about taxis allowed on base or billeting, but the price is right ?
